Text: About This Film

Join fossil experts as they descend into a series of caves deep below Australia’s Nullarbor Plain. There they discover one of the world’s greatest fossil finds - the complete skeleton of a marsupial lion, thylacoleo. When alive, Thylacoleo was a formidable top-end predator. His life ended tragically after it tumbled into the cave more the 500,000 years ago. Using state of the art science, museum researchers set about recreating Thylacoleo’s life, death and nasty habits.
