Fatma Hawari was known throughout the Galilee for her beauty and wisdom, and was constantly being asked for her hand in marriage. During the Israeli air force bombings, in 1948, while she was only 18-years-old, her house in the village of Tarshiha suffered a direct hit. Everyone in it perished, except for Fatma, who was found buried under the rubble, severely wounded. This incident left her paralyzed from the waist down.
From here on, her life changed completely. This lively and beautiful woman, who was the most popular in her village, was abandoned and forgotten. She lost her fiancé and the possibility of starting a family of her own. Since then, shes been living alone, fighting for her right to be recognized as war disabled.
In the course of the film, she meets with the Israeli pilot who was responsible for her tragedy and makes a moral reckoning with herself and those around her.
