Director: Petr Lom
Running Time: 51 minutes

Post Screening Discussion With Director

In Kyrgyzstan, a former Soviet Republic in Central Asia, half of all marriages are conducted through the ancient custom of Bride Kidnapping. It is the usual state of affairs. When a Kyrgyz man decides to marry, he often abducts the woman he has chosen. Typically, he takes several friends, hires a car, stakes out his bride–to-be’s movements and snatches her off the street. The film follows the dramatic stories of four non-consensual kidnappings.
